It was the year that Orson Welles broadcasted his adaptation of H.G. Wells's War of the Worlds on the radio, creating a nationwide panic in the USA as listeners believed that aliens had actually landed, The adventures of Robin Hood starring Errol Flynn was released and Ford produced their first Ford Prefect for the UK market.

We have seen quite a few other historical events over the following eight decades, but one thing which has remained consistent and unchanged throughout is our commitment to provide a traditional, family run and above all customer friendly service.
